My lab (the SAMM) is seeing a lot of Ph.D. defenses for the end of 2013, but we are also welcoming new students, especially in my research group (statistical learning and networks).

Our first new recruit is Rawyia Zreik. She did most of her studies at the Lebanese University in Hadath. She moved to France in 2012 for a Master 2 in Lille 3 (Mathématiques Appliquées aux Sciences Économiques, MASE). During this master, she studied non parametric modeling of functional data.

In our lab, she will study temporal graphs with a generative model point of view, with applications in History. She will be co-advised by our former colleague Charles Bouveyron (who has just been promoted to Professor this September!) and by Pierre Latouche.
